Islam: A Threat to America and the Western World This paper discusses the threat that Islam poses to America and the western world. Islam is a very large religion that has increasingly widespread influence on the world. Countries that are ruled by theocracies of Islam are some of the weakest and violent countries on Earth. Countries who are enveloped by Islam tend to have the highest percentage of extremists as well. This paper also discusses the history of Islam, its founding, what it it teaches, and how the religion has affected the world since its origin. The paper goes on to show incompatibilities that Islam has with the western world, whether that may be democracy or individual rights. The Arabs took their conquests to Syria, Palestine, and the Byzantine empire, imposing the Islamic faith on to all peoples conquered (Yalman). This idea of conquering still has a place in the Islamic faith today, as the goal of Islam is to be the one sole religion on Earth. None of the three largest monotheistic religions advocate such a messageâ⬠¦ except for Islam. Of them, ââ¬Å"... one was started by a lawgiver, one by a man of peace, and one by a warriorâ ⬠(Feder). Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was a violent man who advocated for war to spread the Islamic faith.
